You know that feeling you get when you stand up too fast after you have laid down for a while? That's how I always feel.

Ninja attack (working title)

Posted by Shintoku - November 9th, 2007

My first flash, "Ninja Attack", is under way! I might release a trailer of it, but it pisses me off when other people do that, so I probably won't.
The series is going to follow a new ninja, "Jeff" as they call him. His first big mission was to assassinate Ronald Reagan, but before doing so, he is struck by a bus. He is in a coma until 2008, and upon regaining conciousness, has lost his mind.

I hope it goes well.

I'm getting better at drawing images, but still need some work on my animating.

Here's a rough pic from the project!

I like.

Thanks man! Like I said, though, it's going to be the animating that kills me, and I won't post it online until I think it's perfect.

You're right about Galaxy

ps-nice pic

Thanks! It'll be out... probably around March.

...and if you're talking about the profile pic: Thanks! Bud light, mother fucker!

the pictures fucking sweet! how are you going to animate it?

FBF?

tween?

also how long have you been working with flash?

ps. LAMO kill Ronald Reagen

Thanks! That is just a beta copy of what he will look like. I'm going to be using mostly tweens. It seems the most productive. I've only been using flash for a couple of months now. I'm picking it up fast, but there is still a lot for me to learn. I used to be a music major, now I'm in computer programming. Next semester is my first programming class, so I hope they can shed some light on the scripting side of things. Also, I am trying to get his fucking limbs to move correctly when I make him move. It's not a fluidity problem, but the lines I've for the outline of his limbs keep moving over each other. I think I'm going to take a lesson from Adam Phillips and redraw the character at every possible moment. That's gonna be a bitch, but at least it will look right. Got any tips?

i frame by frame pretty much everything, only not so when characters are idle, its a right fucking ball ache, but the end result looks great.

if your gonna use tweens, it takes a while to be proficient with them, i for one, am shite at tweening, the only time i use them is to move movie clips about for quick scenes like running jumping etc,

if your gonna tween the character be prepared to use a LOT of layers, segregate the character up into many different parts,

so have a torso layer, head layer, foreground bicep layer, background bicep layer, foreground arm layer, background arm layer, foreground thigh, background thigh, foreground shin, background shin. and tween them inside a movie clip to look like its running, then tween THAT to move to the left or right.

(see why i Frame By Frame?)

also making a character turn is quite hard to explain, a good way to get better is stealing from others and making it your own. i mean watch a movie and see the way the author uses the characters moving themselves.

pfft... i suck at tweening...

if your ever gonna frame by frame i suggest drawing out the entire scene using stick men first then adding flesh over them like a mannequin

I'm quite proficient in flash so if you ever need a hand don't hesitate to send me a PM

wait a minute...

Galaxy is already out...
